Once you've made sure that the external monitor (or TV) is on and that the Miracast features are enabled on it, go to your Windows 10 laptop. If you have a laptop with an HDMI port, you can use it to connect an external monitor and even TVs or video projectors. I'm not sure on the docking station, but the USB-C supports display port. To connect your laptop to an auxiliary display, you'll need to know what kind of ports your laptop has to make sure the connection between the two devices is compatible. Does anyone know which docking station I can use? Depending on what video ports you have on your laptop and monitor, you might need a DisplayPort to VGA, HDMI to DisplayPort, USB-C to HDMI, VGA to HDMI, DVI to HDMI, or Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter.
I just bought this Lenovo Yoga 7i laptop (spec sheet here) which has a 1920x1080 display, and I'm plugging it into this Acer G257HU external monitor which supports 2560x1440. Press (Fn) + F10 (refer to the model's keyboard to find the key with an icon like image 1) or use Windows + P to toggle the display between the computer and an external device. If you find one, push it repeatedly until the monitor shows HDMI as the source of input.
The laptop will scan for and give you options. At the same time, on my laptop external monitor was work after many actions with drivers, uefi, etc.
